Explore Middle Island, a site of deep historical importance for the Irish in the area. You can read much more about Middle Island, including details of a proposed Irish Cultural Heritage Attraction.

Take a stroll through scenic French Fort Cove, over meandering trails that pass old stone quarries, hidden valleys and past the spot of one of Miramichi's most nefarious legends - that of the Headless Nun.

We encourage you to read about the historical agreement signed between our community and that of County Monaghan, Ireland. This agreement has solidified our Irish roots with strong modern ties to the homeland.

A book on the history of Middle Island will be launched during the opening ceremonies. The authors, Caroline Daley and Anne Springer, will be available for book signings at the arena. The book, Middle Island: Before and After the Tragedy, was commissioned by Middle Island Irish Historical Park Inc.

Opening Ceremonies for the Interpretive Centre at Middle Island Irish Historical Park will take place on Friday at 2:00 pm. All are welcome.
