Irish Capital". On behalf of the citizens of the Miramichi Bay du Vin riding and New Brunswick’s Irish capital, I hope
your stay in Miramichi is a very enjoyable, memorable and pleasant one. Please enjoy our warm hospitality that we miramichiers
are known for. Please be sure while you are here to take in some of our Historical sites such as Middle Island Irish Historical
Park, St. Michael’s Museum and Miramichi Natural History Museum.
As we celebrate the 22nd year of Canada’s Irish
Festival on the Miramichi we have good ties with Ireland; one being NBCC-Miramichi/Information Technology where we sent students
to Ireland to work. Also the City of Miramichi is twinned with the County of Monaghan.
I would like to thank John McLaughlin, president of the
Irish Festival and past presidents and executive and many volunteers who make this festival a success each year.
