Miramichi Irish Festival 2001 County Clare's and specifically Doolin's finest, "The Cil Bandits" have followed up on the success of their debut album with a stunning new recording of inspired traditional music entitled Hangin' at the Crossroads.
The story of the Bandits is ongoing but had its beginnings in the right bottom corner of McGanns Pub, Doolin, Co. Clare - in the West of Ireland where Eoin O'Neill and Kevin Griffin have been performing over the last two decades. In 1997 O'Neill decided the time was right to formalise the sacred corner - an album was recorded, tours were organized and "The Cil Bandits" were on the road. The The Cil Bandits have now become an important band in the present state of Irish Music. While they have fun and they rock, they maintain a deep respect and knowledge for the tune and the tradition. It comes completely natural to them to the extent that they rarely use a set list, preferring to transfer McGanns corner and the session to the world stage. In the last couple of years they have toured from Bulgaria to Alaska and a lot in between, bringing Doolin music and good fun wherever "The Cil Bandits" appear.
